The Story Behind The Pleiades
The name The Pleiades comes from the seven stars known in the Tuareg tradition as Chet Ahad (ⵛⵉⵜ ⴰⵓⴷ).
For generations, these stars have held an important place in Tuareg travel and desert navigation. They have helped Tuareg travellers recognize the direction of east while crossing the Sahara.
