El Beridj-Tadrart-Essendilène
This journey offers an in-depth exploration of the spectacular Tadrart Rouge region. Beyond the famous landscapes of In Djaren and Tin Merzouga, it takes you into the remarkable mineral world of El Beridj, a pristine area that remains largely untouched due to its limited vehicle access. After a short stop in Djanet, the adventure continues with visits to the breathtaking sites of Essendilène and Tegharghart, home to some of the most iconic rock art in the Algerian Sahara.

Arrival in Djanet during the night; after completing access formalities for the Tassili National Park, we transfer by vehicle to the Pleiades lodge for some rest. After lunch, we set off toward Mount Tiska, where we set up our first bivouac.
We cross the Admer plain heading toward the Ténéré, where endless sands stretch to the horizon. Soon we arrive at the shores of Adrar Mariaou, which rises like an island from this sea of sand. Our journey continues to the beautiful site of Assekendar, where towering rock formations are swept by massive waves of fine sand. Bivouac at Alidemma.

After a short exploration of nearby canyons, we travel through surreal landscapes between Alidemma and Monkhor, where signs of wildlife are abundant. We then head to the El Barkat plateau, continuing eastward through rocky Tassili terrain until we reach the El Beridj wadi—the starting point of our hike.
Days 4 & 5
We explore the El Beridj region, rich in diverse landscapes: sweeping dunes, wide canyons bordered by dark sandstone cliffs, ruin-like rock formations, and hidden gueltas nestled in deep gorges.
Day 6
A walk through the cirque of Moul N’Aga, scattered with sandstone towers. We then reach Tamezguida with its striking arches, follow the mouth of In Djaren, and arrive at the high dunes of Ouan Zaouaten and Tin Merzouga.
day 7
Exploration of the Tin Merzouga erg. We then head back toward Idoukal, surrounded by stunning landscapes.
Day 8
Discovery of the unique formations in the cirque of Ouan n’Aguen, where red and pink sands encircle finely sculpted rock formations. We make our way up the In Djaren canyon, whose sculpted cliffs house ancient paintings and engravings. Bivouac at Tissetteka, where caves, arches, and natural basins have been polished by erosion.
Day 9
We cross the rocky Tassili of Imaharatène.
A short stop in Djanet for refueling, then we bivouac at Timras.
Day 10
A day dedicated to the remarkable sites of Tikoubaouine and Essendilène.
Day 11
We wander through the Erg Admer and visit the site of Teghaghart to see its rock engravings. Then, back to the Pleiades lodge for a refreshing shower before exploring Djanet. Dinner in the garden of the lodge, followed by a transfer to the airport for the return flight.
