Day 1 – Arrival in Djanet and Welcome
Arrival at Djanet Airport, where our team welcomes you. Transfer to a traditional guesthouse, free time to relax, and overnight stay before your Sahara adventure begins.
Day 2 – Djanet to Ihrir Oasis
After breakfast, we travel by 4×4 to the remote Tuareg village of Ihrir, located within Tassili n'Ajjer National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore traditional mud-brick houses and enjoy gentle walks along palm-lined wadis surrounded by oleanders. Overnight at a comfortable local guesthouse in Ihrir.
Day 3 – Hiking Through Oued Idaren
Today’s hike follows Oued Idaren, a lush valley known for its rich vegetation, clear springs, and traditional Tuareg settlements. Enjoy the peaceful surroundings as you walk through this remarkable oasis landscape, where palm groves and water create a striking contrast with the vast Sahara Desert.
Day 4 – Across the Dider Plateau
Leaving the green oasis behind, we cross the vast Dider Plateau, where the landscape gradually transforms from lush palm groves to dramatic sandstone formations, open desert and golden dunes. Along the way, discover the remote beauty of the Algerian Sahara and, when encountered, experience the traditional way of life of Tuareg communities living in this vast desert environment.
Day 5 – Journey to Essendilène
After breakfast, we leave the Dider area and continue by 4×4 towards Essendilène, one of the most remarkable valleys of the Tassili n'Ajjer. Explore the impressive canyon, natural springs and lush vegetation of the valley, with time for a walk and discovery of this exceptional desert landscape. In the evening, we continue to Tewadjidit, the sandy area opposite Essendilène, where we set up camp and spend the night under the Sahara sky.
Day 6 – Tikoubaouine to Adayeg
After breakfast, we leave Tewadjidit and head towards Tikoubaouine, where we explore the spectacular sandstone formations and surrounding landscapes. We have lunch in Tikoubaouine before continuing our journey through Tilalin, Agzel, In Mouroudan and Tahar Amiwen. We then reach Adayeg, where we enjoy dinner, set up camp and spend the night in the heart of the Sahara.
Day 7 – Erg Admer & Tegharghart
After breakfast, we leave Adayeg and travel across the magnificent dunes of Erg Admer before visiting Tegharghart, home to the legendary Crying Cow rock engraving, one of the most iconic examples of prehistoric rock art in the Sahara.
Later, transfer to Djanet Airport for your return flight for a well-deserved shower and some relaxation. If time permits, visit the Archaeological Museum, the Old Fort, and the local handicraft market before enjoying a farewell dinner. Later, transfer to Djanet Airport for your return flight.
