The People Behind The Pleiades Travel
Abdessalam Hafach is the founder and manager of The Pleiades Travel. A Tuareg from Djanet, he has more than 15 years of experience organizing desert journeys and speaks English fluently.
Hamid Hafach is an experienced Tuareg translator and tour guide from the Djanet region. He speaks French and English fluently and holds a university degree. Together, they combine local knowledge, experience and a deep connection to the Sahara to create authentic and well-organized journeys for our guests.

Mani & Farhat — Tuareg Guides
Mani and Farhat are experienced Tuareg guides from Djanet, with deep knowledge of the Sahara and many years of experience guiding travelers. Both speak French and share their knowledge of the desert, its landscapes and Tuareg culture with our guests.
Bakrin Timlfati
Tuareg Guide, Desert Driver & Musician
Bakrin Timlfati is a Tuareg musician, experienced desert guide and driver from Djanet. He is one of the founding members of TissilaWen, the renowned Tuareg band founded in Djanet in 2008.  With his deep connection to the Sahara, extensive knowledge of the desert and fluent French, Bakrin brings both local expertise and Tuareg culture to every journey.
El Bchir & Ibrahim— Tuareg Guides
El Bchir is one of our most experienced tour guides and a valued member of The Pleiades Travel team. He speaks Italian fluently, and his long experience with Italian travelers makes him an essential member of our team. Friendly, cheerful and passionate about art, El Bchir brings his experience and positive energy to every journey.
Ibrahim is one of our finest guides, known for his calm personality, wisdom and deep knowledge of the Sahara. His quiet and thoughtful approach makes him a trusted companion on every journey. He is also a talented guitarist and a skilled Tindi musician, bringing his passion for Tuareg music and culture to our desert experiences.
Moussa “Bousha” & Kadir
Moussa, known as Bousha, is a Tuareg guide from the Sefar region and one of our experienced desert guides. He comes from a family deeply connected to the Tassili n’Ajjer, and is a descendant of the renowned Tuareg guide and explorer Jebrine Machar, whose knowledge and guidance played an important role in the exploration and documentation of the Tassili’s rock art.
This heritage has helped preserve a deep knowledge of the landscapes, caves and ancient sites of the Tassili, which Moussa continues to share with travelers today.
Kadir is an experienced tour guide, skilled translator and trained nurse. He speaks French fluently and is known for his cheerful personality and passion for art. With his extensive experience in the Sahara, he brings both professional knowledge and local expertise to every journey.
Aitou – Our Tuareg Chef
Aitou is an experienced Tuareg chef and an important member of The Pleiades Travel team. He has extensive experience preparing meals in the Sahara, particularly for Italian travelers, and knows how to combine traditional local cuisine with the tastes and needs of our guests.
During our desert journeys, we usually serve four meals a day. Breakfast is a complete and nourishing meal, while lunch is often a light, cold and vegetarian meal, with options such as tuna or sardines. In the evening, Aitou prepares a fresh soup every day, followed by a variety of local dishes and a complete dinner.
For us, food is also part of the journey: sharing a meal in the desert is an opportunity to discover Tuareg hospitality, local flavors and the traditions of the Sahara.
