Tassili n’Ajjer National Park

Tassili n’Ajjer National Park is one of the most extraordinary natural and cultural landscapes in the world, located in southeastern Algeria. Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1982, the park is renowned for its vast sandstone plateau, shaped by wind and time into surreal rock formations, deep gorges, and natural arches.

The park is home to more than 15,000 prehistoric rock paintings and engravings, some over 10,000 years old. These artworks offer a vivid record of ancient Saharan life — from hunting scenes and wild animals to spiritual rituals and early pastoralism — making it one of the most important open-air museums in the world.

Tassili n’Ajjer also holds ecological significance, hosting rare desert plant species and unique geological features. It’s a paradise for trekkers, researchers, and adventure seekers, offering an unforgettable journey through time and nature.
